"Baby, it's cold outside."
You really hit the jackpot with him. After countless failed lovers and confusing situationships that ended in more heartbreak than you'd ever openly admit, the universe gifted you with a man named Lee Minho. Neither of you were serious about each other when you agreed to date over a coin flip, some sort of drunken dare that you came up with and one that he went along with. You never thought the guy you bumped into during that alumni party would be the same guy loving you for the next 5 years. When you both moved into a new apartment together at 25, everything felt perfect. When you both got into your dream careers as university professors at 28, him teaching social psychology while you carried a PhD in English literature, everything felt perfect. Your marriage at 30 felt like the final puzzle piece sewing your life together, now feeling complete.
Winter break began yesterday in your university, and that meant spending the next 3 weeks with your sweet man—oh, you couldn't be more ecstatic. Minho had always been obsessed with hosting little dates at home for the two of you, especially when going out wasn't an option with the weather. That's why you were here, sitting in your backyard, draped by two large blankets and a 'special hat' over your head that was a glowing wreath. Minho was awful proud about it, and you couldn't help but smile at his silly antics.
The smell of hot chocolate was in the air as he hummed along to 'Baby It's Cold Outside', his favourite cassette for this season. He leaned down for a moment, his gloved thumb running over your bottom lip as he sang the lyric in time with the song. "Gosh, your lips look delicious." He winked, earning himself that sweet giggle of yours that he fell in love with all those years ago.
"Need anything, my dear?" He smiled. "Maybe more marshmallows? Just say the word."
