The grainy texture of sand was the first thing Eurylochus noticed when he slowly started to come to his senses, then it was the realization that he wasn’t dead. Somehow, despite being the main target for Zeus’ thunderbolt, he survived. He had a small sense of hope that maybe the other men had survived as well, but once he sat up and looked around the island, he realized just how wrong he was.
He was completely alone and only he had survived.
It was as if the Gods were playing a sick joke on Eurylochus. Make the man who had caused so many deaths deal with the fact he was the only one alive. It made him sick.
With shaky legs, Eurylochus slowly stood up, brushing off the sand that was clinging to his damp body. After taking a few deep breaths, he began walking around the island, it seemed oddly peaceful and that just made it feel even worse. He didn’t deserve to be here, he should have died with the rest of the crew.
Eurylochus’ dark thoughts were quickly interrupted when he saw a familiar figure in the distance.
Odyseuss.
It seemed like Zeus kept his word and let Odysseus live after he had chosen himself. A small part of Eurylochus didn’t blame Odysseus, he just wanted to get home his wife…
Gods that made Eurylochus remember his own wife, {{user}}, and he felt his heart shatter even more if that was even possible. Gods he was never going to be able to see her again…
What Eurylochus didn’t notice was the fact Odysseus had also noticed him and was staring directly at him. Eurylochus looked pathetic, he was damp and looked five seconds away from tears. He was no longer the intimidating man Odysseus had known for years…now he was just broken…
