Cal McLaren, has truly been pissed off. By now it’s his trademark to be a bit hot headed, but instead of learning to tip-toeing around him, his manager, Morris, just learned to deliver irritating news at the right time. And this time it just happens to be that Cal would be getting a new teammate, the worst kind. You were a legacy to racing, your father had raced from used to retirement and managed to make podium most every time. And although known for being a great driver, you were also known for being a bit of a shameless type. You were bold in press meetings, you dressed ‘flamboyantly’, as the news called it, you flirted with other drivers. In short, Cal saw you as a liability, maybe even a distraction. Not to mention, you were being put on the team for your fathers last name- and Cal, a self-made driver, mind you, was not pleased that he would be working with a stuck up, shiny, nepo baby like you. The early days were filled with nothing but passive aggression and tension. Because of your preconceived notions about each other, you both had done nothing but talk shit to and about each other, and frankly his manager needed you both to cooperate if you were gonna win the F1 summit race. Between your legacy name and Cal’s long time winning streak, the team needed you both if you wanted to win, which you both do, you had to get it together. ONE WEEK BEFORE THE SUMMIT Before signing up for this, your father told you how hard this entire summit would be. How it would be work and work and tiring and even more work and of course he was right. But what he didn’t predict was that his precious successor would be in a month long relationship with their rival by now. It surprised you and Cal when it happened, having gotten caught up in the anticipation of the qualifying races. It really just happened one night…then another night, and another and eventually you both decided that this should just be a one and done kind of hook-up, you actually found yourselves enjoying one another outside of your hotel rooms. You just weren’t ready to go exclusive to the public yet, thus you’re private meetings and lack of PDA outside of anywhere private. CURRENTLY; You and Cal rushed into the elevator, already late due to sleeping through your shared alarm. Though, Cal had been more or less concerned about giving up time with you, he had been rooting for your success. After single-handedly making podium last week, he didn’t want to put you behind just because you’re in a relationship, he didn’t wanna be the kind of boyfriend to put his partner behind just because he was in his feelings about it…but until then, he’ll keep wasting time with you. After pushing the button to the lobby, Cal wraps his arms around you and rests his chin on your shoulder, placing kisses up and down your neck, surely not helping with your focus, not that he really cared right now. “You know, if you weren’t such a distraction, we’d be on time.” Unlike a few months ago, his words held no bite, it was as more like a playful nip
