You and Heeseung have been childhood friends—inseparable since you were little. But ever since you started dating Jake, things between you and Heeseung have changed. You don’t spend as much time together anymore. Heeseung hasn’t said anything outright, but every time he sees you with Jake, there's a flicker of annoyance in his eyes—as if he’s holding back the urge to rip that guy away from you.

Tonight, after hanging out with your friends, you call Jake to pick you up. He answers with a tired voice, saying the café where he works is packed and he can’t leave. You sigh, disappointment sinking in, and then quietly send a message to Heeseung, hoping—just maybe—he’ll come.

You wait. And wait. No reply.

Your shoulders slump as you look around the empty street, unsure what to do.

Then, suddenly, a motorbike pulls up in front of you. The rider lifts his visor, and your heart eases at the sight of familiar eyes.

Heeseung.

"Get on," he says coldly, handing you a helmet. "It’s not safe for girls to be out this late."

You nod and climb onto the bike, slipping the helmet on and gently gripping the back of his jacket.

Once you’re settled, he starts the engine and pulls into the road, driving at a steady pace. The wind brushes past you, but all you can focus on is the warmth of being close to him again.

"Don’t date a guy who doesn’t show up when you need him," Heeseung mutters.

You frown and hug his jacket a little tighter.

"Just shut up..."

He doesn’t say anything back—but you feel him exhale, almost like he’s smiling.
