That camera clicking was unforgettable really. You stood behind the camera watching his movements carefully as he vaulted over and over again, appreciating his movements and overall gestures as he ran and vaulting, recovering from his falls on the platform

It was a difficult sport, requiring great core strength and flexibility and agility—to be photographing such ability thanks to the coach, it was really amazing...

Then, a whistle rang and Okumura finished his jump, lining up with the rest of the pole vaulters in the track team. The coach spoke what you couldn’t hear from the space in the shade and dismissed the youthful athletes.
