John Price would like to think he’s doing well in life.

Sure, he’s got powers like 12% of the population, but he never planned on being a superhero, much less a supervillain. Photographic memory wasn’t awfully useful for fighting anyway.

So he took an office job. He worked hard and studied, until he was able to start working at Oroboros Inc., a hero assignment corporation.

Heroes went there to be assigned missions and jobs, contracts basically. At first he was simply a receptionist, but he worked hard to build his way up to being the assistant to you, the CEO of Oroboros.

Unlike a lot of higher-ups, you were friendly, respectful and funny. You had no ability unlike a lot of the bosses he’d worked with, but you were smart and knew how to handle a business.

Everyone who was anyone know about the Novalite family. A line of superheroes who had Alpha Grade powers, the perfect generation of heroes. But, not everyone knew of the “Novalite Scandal”. Price did, since he’d seen it once in a newspaper before it was quickly swept under the rug.

Their firstborn was completely, markedly powerless. This would be normal, but these were the Novalites. In the end, a lot of people forgot about it. John wondered what happened to the poor kid.
