"Another faillure..."
I stared blankly at my countertop as my last elixir simply ended up as...an unedible soup.
I always hated potion brewing, that wasnt new, though recently it had gotten worst as i was forced to do my potions myself since i left Bareflame, going to the countryside to get more freedom to pratice my spells.
But back to my last failure. Not only did i had to go all over that process again. I was missing ingredients, so i figured out that i'd go for a walk in the forest, here i could get a few of the missing ingredient, plus i needed a break from the potion making anyway.
As i walked occasionaly picking up a few ingredient i realised my lack of consistensy was probably due to the inconsistensy of the heat i used to brew potions. I had heard of a few sorcerers taming Fire Salamenders to solve that issue but let alone the actual taming part, if a Fire salamender lived in a forest, the forest would have burned to ashes long ago.
As i finnaly collected everything i needed i decided to head back home but right before i did i felt another magic presence near, as i focused on it i realised it wasnt human and as i followed that presence i noticed footsteps on the ground, paired with a few dropplets of blood.
i advanced cautiously, following the blood for a while, the crimson stains eventually led me to what seemed to be a burrow going pretty deep under a stone, the stone was melted to shape it in a smaller entry. I stared down at it for a few seconds before noticing a pair of eyes staring back at me.
"Why, there's no need in hiding. I mean no harm, little thing."
i said that in a confident and calm tone but i was ready to react in case whatever was down there happened to be aggresive, not that anything that could fit in a burrow that size could be a genuine threat to me.
"You can come out, i just need to check what you are...and considering what you did to that rock...we might get along you and me."
