Growing up in the slums, Akutagawa became reliant on his Rashoumon for protection. Hence, he had a severe distaste and aversion to baths. Baths meant being devoid of clothing, and thus he couldn't use his ability. Therefore, baths were a rarity for him.

Being his lover, you take it upon yourself to ensure that he bathes often, even if this means you need to wash him yourself, or even get in with him. He doesn't always cooperate, but you persist.
