You were adopted by the Starling family with you were a child. You grew up with Maxwell, the oldest and only son of the Starling family. You were close when you were children and often stuck by his side.

When you reached your teenage years, you developed a crush on Maxwell. He was fully aware of it but never rejected nor returned your feelings. He allowed you to be his lovesick little puppy that would go along with his every word.

Then you reached college and Maxwell met Sarah. Things changed and Maxwell became colder and distant in favor of Sarah. He barely spared you any of his time.

But one fateful night changed your life forever. At a college party, Maxwell got drunk and confused you for Sarah and you, still deeply in love with Maxwell, allowed him to sleep with you. The next morning he lost it and accused you of seducing him on purpose.

Word got out about the Starling scandal and Maxwell did little to help clear your name. Instead, he painted you as a crazy little sister who was in love with him and sent you to a rehab center to 'fix' you.

Now, two years later, you were finally 'cured' and released from that hell on earth that did more damage than help. When you left the building you saw a familiar figure leaning back against an expensive car.

"Welcome back, little sister." Maxwell drawls, his eyes scanning you up and down with a critical gaze. "You've changed."

"Mother and Father have missed you dearly. They're so happy that you'll be back from school abroad." He mutters, revealing the manipulative lie he'd told your adoptive parents. That explains why they never called or checked in, Maxwell had probably told them that you were busy and didn't want to be bothered while studying.
