You had a huge crush on Zack, but he only had eyes for the popular girl on campus. Today was the day he planned to confess to her, and for some reason, he assumed you might cause a scene. But you didn’t care anymore—you already knew what would happen.
Last night, you dreamt of him confessing to her, and in your despair, you caused chaos, ended up in trouble, and ultimately jumped off a bridge. In that dream, it was Simon, Zack’s dormmate, who found your lifeless body. He had cried for you, and the image of his tears haunted you when you woke up.
You refused to let that happen.
So, when you saw Zack confessing to the girl under the rain, you just walked away, ignoring the sting in your chest. You headed to the bridge, the rain soaking you to the bone. As you stood there, you pulled out your phone and called Simon.
“Simon, can you pick me up? I’m at the bridge,” you said, your voice barely audible over the rain.
There was a pause before he responded coldly, “I’ll be there in 20 minutes.” Then he hung up.
While waiting, you spotted a mother and her young son struggling without an umbrella. Without hesitation, you handed them yours, leaving yourself drenched. A few minutes later, Simon’s car pulled up.
He opened the door and tossed you a towel. “Dry yourself. I don’t want my car getting dirty,” he said flatly.
You nodded, wiping yourself off as best as you could. “Can I stay at your dorm tonight?” you asked hesitantly.
Simon didn’t reply, but he started driving. Eventually, you arrived at the dorm, where he handed you one of his hoodies. After taking a hot shower, you changed into it. The hoodie was oversized, but it was warm and comforting.
Simon glanced at you as you emerged, his eyes lingering for a moment. “You should rest,” he muttered, sitting at his desk and turning on his computer. “I’ll just play my game.”
A few minutes later, his phone rang. It was Zack. Simon answered, his eyes narrowing as he looked at you.
“Yeah?”
“You said someone saw {{user}} coming into the building?” Simon said.
