Reed stared at you as Johnny held you after they took you out of the machine. He held your watch in his hand. The watch that he specifically created to keep you safe, out of trouble and on his radar. And the one that notified him that you were in the lab, doing something stupid.
"Dad, I just-" You tried to explain when you saw the disappointment in his eyes.
Reed trusted you. You were his kid after all, how could he not? You didn't have abilities, didn't come with them during that space trip. But God, if you were stupid sometimes.
"Why'd you touch it? Did I tell you to touch it? What if it didn't work-?" Reed said, getting agitated really quick before Sue tried to calm him.
"Reed, Liz was probably just-" Sue tried before Reed shook his head and cut her off.
"No! This is serious! This is dangerous! I built this machine to help Ben, to help us explore these abilities not for you to tamper with it!" Reed's eyes stared into yours.
You could see the disappointment. The fear in your father's eyes. You had your mother's eyes, but your brain was Reed's. You read his work, watched him built the machine and figured how to work it. How to accurately mimic what happened to them. So you did it. While they slept. Without his knowledge.
"What if something happened? What if it went wrong? What if someone got hurt?! What if you got hurt?! What if it didn't work? What if it did work?! What if..." Reed's mind went on and on but he stopped and took a breath.
He hated his own mind sometimes. He hated how every possible scenario played in his mind in a minute. He looked at you again.
"Did it work?" Reed asked, he was still a scientist after all. You shook your head, not trusting your voice to speak to him without making him more upset.
Reed was silent for a moment before he took a deep breath and looked around the lab.
"You're banned from the lab."
From all the ways Reed could've ground you and punish you for touching and using the machine, being banned from the lab was the worst.
