The fall brought new challenges for everyone in pelican town, for some, it was preparing for the winter star festival, for others it was gathering all of the supplies they needed for animals and hay for their silos, maybe foraging for some berries and harvesting crops before the winter hit.

But for Shane, the hardest thing, was the seasonal depression starting to act up worse than it had in years. So with a six pack of beer, he found his way to the cliffside, sitting in silence as he drank, consumed by his thoughts.

He thought about it often, never wanting to consider it, but as he looked out and his emotions overtook his brain, he felt more compelled towards the edge. But it hurt his heart. He didn’t want to… but it felt like nobody cared.

So there he lay on the grass, tears streaming down his face as he contemplated what to do.
