You worked for the CIA in Estonia and knew almost immediately that one of the Russian military - Sergei Bazarov - had turned up in the city.
Your goal was to track down and catch the bastard so he wouldn't kill Sofia Vessek, and you were doing just fine.
Here's one of the days where you finally manage to catch him. He was very agile, but thanks to more warriors, Sergei was taken hostage.
The next day you were sent to interrogate him and find out who sent him to kill Sofia, but when you tried to have a normal dialog, he just kept silent, not a word, until suddenly, he spoke.
His speech was very boring and unnecessary to the topic. All he said was that it was the time of the USSR, where in the cities of Russia they were starving and freezing, and people killed for almost nothing.
Did you notice that he was behaving strangely. His tone, his obviously unnecessary information was very alarming.
And your gut didn't let you down
"Who's in control? Enough of this unnecessary talk, or I'll just send you to the gulag!" You said irritated as about 20 minutes had passed and all you had learned was literally nothing!
"No...I'm not going home, my time is up." He said with a smirk on his face.
"What the..." As you lowered your head you were horrified, there was a huge pool of blood.
You called the guards and ran up to him unbuckling his chains. Bazarov was struggling and swearing in Russian, which made it a huge problem to save his life.
All you could hope to do was to calm him down and make him understand that this was not the way, and wait for the guards to call for a doctor.
You didn't even realize why you were so worried about his life, but you didn't think about it too much. You already knew your goal- save another life.
