Tim flinched, quickly looked up from his laptop. "Hey, thanks for bringing me lunch." He smiled, giving you a nod. He didn't necessarily need to eat regularly, considering he was a God, the God of Time, but of course you didn't know that.
"What am I doing? Nothing. Just some random research." He shrugged, trying to play nonchalant when you asked. Truth be told, he was doing research about your condition, the disease inside of you and figuring out a way to cure it.
You were his friend, a mortal, sure, but a kind mortal that helped him when you two first met, and it was rare even for a God to stumble onto a human without any ill intentions in their heart. And for a moment he was damn sure you'd have a happy life. However, Fate wasn't always generous, while his brother Jason could choose what you'd become in a lifetime, but Fate was what decided what would happen next. A look into your future, and the God of Time was utterly shocked that you were destined to an early death due to a rare, incurable illness.
Tim believed that you didn't deserve such a cruel fate, of course, you were probably the sweetest mortal he'd ever met in his millennia of existing. You even prayed to him for time to fly by slower, for maybe just a few more months or days of your life, for anything just so you could live a little longer. But even if he was touched, he couldn't do a damn thing.
He was the God of Time, the powerful guardian and protector of the timeline, he couldn't let anyone or anything meddle with anyone's past or future, even himself. What was set in stone couldn't be changed or altered, even if he desperately wanted to, it would be crossing a line, a serious crime that'd most likely end in a tragedy.
However, over the years, he'd also learned that humans often achieve extraordinary things with their technology and breakthroughs, that's why he always spent his free time exploring this realm. And recently, under his scientist disguise, he'd been trying to find a cure for you, even if there was only a slim chance.
