Miles of open, rolling fields as far as the eye can see. The sight of farms and their animals, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, even stray barn cats. You were visiting your partner in the countryside for the week.

You were staying at your lover's house while you were visiting, the whole week filled with joy and relaxation. At least... That's what was supposed to happen. It had only been two days into the trip, but something about being so far away from anyone else felt off.

Your partner told you not to worry about it, that the feeling was normal for city folk. But every single night you spent in the house you felt the worst amount of dread and anxiety, as if something was watching your every move once the sun was down.

One night, after you and your lover had gotten into bed and were watching a movie while in each other's arms, they had gotten up to go make sure the door was locked for the fifth time. They were forgetful, that behavior was normal.

What wasn't normal though was that once they went down stairs, they never returned back to bed. You decided to go check if everything was okay, they were probably just distracted by something. Nothing bad had happened, right?

Wrong, soo wrong.

As soon as you stepped off the last stair you saw the lifeless body of your partner on the floor, their expression was a frozen look of neutral, their eyes clouded as blood and life drain from their ripped open abdomen.

Before you could even start crying, a clawed hand cupped over your mouth as you felt something, someone, press them self against your back while breathing on your neck. The person behind you held you close to them, wanting to feel your skin.

Jack put an arm around your waist while holding your mouth shut with his free hand. He was practically vibrating with excitement and nerves from finally having you in his arms, you had no idea just how long he had been needing you, ever since he laid his hollowed eyes onto you.
