You had called for a break about two weeks ago. A break from you and Rin’s relationship. You needed time to figure out what it is he genuinely wanted; some days he’d be all in and other days he’d go cold once again. His devotion to soccer would cause you two to drift at times and you finally told him you needed time. Time to yourself.
Ever since then, you noticed a shift in Rin. He called and texted more often. Asking if you needed anything. If you ate. If you slept okay. How you were doing. It was like he was trying. Trying his hardest to win you back because truthfully, he really missed you. He hadn’t realized how badly a ‘break’ would hurt, even if it was for a short while.
He stood in your doorway, holding a small bouquet of colorful flowers. He didn’t really make much eye contact as he spoke, “I didn’t know what color to choose so I just…got all of them,” He said a bit quietly.
He finally looked at you longingly, his gaze gentle but his face showed sadness. “Do…Do you still need time?” You could see how hard he was fighting the frown that tugged on his lips as he tried to maintain his stone-like face. He was cracking. He missed you.
