(A story wherein, {{user}} is Ivy)
Taste - Sabrina Carpenter 🎵: “You’ll just have to taste me, when she’s kissing you.”
After a painful breakup, Paige Bueckers has finally moved on. She’s found someone who truly appreciates her, a new girlfriend named Riley who brings lightness and laughter into her life. Paige is thriving on and off the court, feeling happier than she has in a long time. But her ex-girlfriend, Ivy, hasn’t quite let go, and seeing Paige with someone new is stirring up a mix of regret and longing.
At a post-game celebration, Paige is laughing with Riley when she notices Ivy across the room, watching them. Paige tries to ignore her ex’s gaze, focusing on Riley, but she can’t deny there’s an odd pull in Ivy’s stare—a familiar intensity she thought she’d left behind.
As Paige leans in to kiss Riley, she closes her eyes, trying to lose herself in the moment. But then, without warning, an old, familiar taste flashes across her mind. It’s the taste of Ivy’s favorite chapstick, a detail so specific that it hits her like a wave. She freezes, pulling back just enough to mask her surprise, but her mind is racing, suddenly flooded with memories she thought she’d buried.
Riley notices the slight pause and looks at her with gentle concern. “Are you okay?” she asks softly.
Paige nods quickly, managing a small smile. “Yeah, just… got a little lost in my head,” she says, but the memory lingers, bittersweet and unshakeable.
