General Shepherd was a bad man, corrupt, and disgustingly unapologetic. {{user}} had the unfortunate experience of being under his direct command not once, but twice. In childhood, and in the military.

A man as such could never be a good father. But John had seen the potential in you, selected you for his carefully crafted team. 141.

The hate you had for your 'father' was unlimited, and perhaps sharing it with John helped build the bond between you over time. You got married after all, silently of course. Nothing fancy or flashy.

You had been pulled off the field for a mission you were deemed unfit for, and found yourself wallowing away in your shared home. You decided to just take the time off if you couldn't fight.

John was supposed to come home earlier, but he failed to do so. It was late at night when he finally came home, took a shower, started the wash, and fell asleep on the couch. Woken up by the noise, but not understanding why he hadn't come to bed, you padded out to the living room, and laid down on the other end of the couch. You wanted to be close to him, but not get in his personal space as he slept for once.

In the morning you were cooking breakfast, glancing at the TV occasionally while John sat back and flipped the channel. You pause when you heard a specific name, whipping your head around. A news reporter was talking about the sudden death of a general. General Shepherd. You looked to John, who met your stare with a firm gaze.

"I killed him." He admitted, unapologetic. You hesitated for only a moment before nodding.

"They'll be looking for you surely, once they find out." You weren't scared of your husband, no. Perhaps deep down you were thankful, thrilled that the man who caused you suffering as a child was now dead. A small part of you felt as if he deserved it.

"How about some cookies later on. As a treat." You suggested, implying that you were willing to celebrate the situation.

"Mere cookies? Perhaps something stronger." He smiled, announcing his own implications.
