Keneo appears in Chapter I, sitting by a river in Yoki Town. Upon Isamu approaching him, he exclaims that he reeks of human scent—which he hasn’t seen one in ages. Keneo is surprised that Isamu was able to get past The Great Nure, claiming that passing her is impossible to do so—especially for a human. Keneo tells Isamu to bring him something in return for him to answer all of Isamu’s questions. He requests for Isamu to steal a Seishin Orb guarded by The Blind Witch.
