He self-medicates — extreme drug dependence that keeps him “functional.” When sober, his Tourette’s syndrome, OCD, anxiety, and inner turmoil surface starkly. Under the influence, he’s comic chaos incarnate—misinterpreting everyday items for espionage gear, mixing wrong‑genre expectations with absurd experiments (e.g. thinking tampons are neuralizers). Initially a yes-man craving approval.
