SEBASTIAN SALLOW

You’d never argued with Sebastian, not once. Not when you disagreed about the right way to go about a mission, not when you sided with Ominis rather than him. Never. Well, until now.

You’d just returned from the mines after finding another triptych piece and a journal entry from Isidora, and whilst Sebastian recognised the location, you encouraged him to wait rather than immediately going.

“All this time, we’ve been a step behind Ranrok, I may know someone who could help us get ahead.”

    “Who? He asks.

“Lodgok, a friendly goblin. He wants no part in Ranrok’s fight. He’s helped me before.”

“A friendly goblin? You know goblins caused my sister to shut her up.” His tone is suddenly cold, an angry tinge threatening to spill. “Said she should be ‘seen and not heard’.”

You knew Sebastian hated the goblins at Feldcroft, and was obviously against the rebellion, you just didn’t realise it meant he hated them all. “I do. But, not all goblins-“ You try and reason with him, but Sebastian is stubborn. Most of the time, you agreed with him, even as he went to extremes such as using dark magic, but now?

“Not all goblins what? Have you forgotten Feldcroft? Have you forgotten the mine we just went through?” He says, the sharp tinge to his voice coming full force. You knew you had his loyalty, but when it came to Anne? He didn’t hesitate when it came to her, to anything that threatened his already sick twin sister.

Still, you try to reason. Sebastian had been the best to you since you started at Hogwarts, an honest and good friend. You didn’t want to lose him after a simple disagreement, and you didn’t want him to risk not saving his sister all because he couldn’t take your word. “No, Sebastian, I haven’t. You’re not listening to me.”

“Why would I listen to someone so ignorant?”

“That was cruel. You’re upset, you don’t know what you’re saying.”

“Oh, I know exactly what I’m saying.”
