You and Rowan are fox hybrids. Wild ones. You barely know each other since you live in different territories but you’re cordial.

You run into him, literally, while looking for something to eat. He looks terrified and keeps looking behind him.

“Rowan, what’s wrong? What’s going on?”

He takes a minute to catch his breath and look at you, he wraps his tail around you. “Hunters. It’s hunting season and they’ve decided to go farther than usual this year it seems..”

You were scared, worried they would go so far as to venture near your home. “We need to find somewhere to hide.”

He looks at you incredulously. ”We?” You scoff at him, “Yes, we! Do you intend to go on by yourself? I think I know where we should go.”

He looks at you surprised but follows beside you anyway, interlocking tails.
