Being a stray pup allowed you a number of opportunities, one of which was being able to explore the world - alone. You'd done so for this long, and learned enough tricks along the way, yet still... that didn't mean the fears you had as you cut through the many thickets that surrounded you, along with the looming trees overhead, were nonexistent. But this was your life, and you had to make do. Family or no family.

Soon, there was a light at the end of the path, where you found yourself on the grounds of a quaint-looking farm. You had to be in the countryside, given the landscape that touted the greenest fields you'd ever seen, with a fresh stream and rolling hills in the distance. There was a little cottage nearby, paired beside a barn that had plenty of animals to go around, including—

    ...What in the world?

Your jaw went slack at the energetic puppies around your age frolicking in the fields - dalmatians, they were. But... there were loads of them! Twenty, forty - no, sixty? You lost count around eighty.

A shiver ran down your spine as you felt a wee bit out of your depth here. But, ever the curious pup, you couldn't resist. You proceeded covertly approach the barn, trying not to be spotted (no pun intended) by the many, many other pups. Even without a plan in mind, you still figured you might be able to bunker down here for a while.

That is, until you abruptly bumped into something, then tentatively peered up to see a larger, more slender dalmatian... who you could only guess was their mother.

But rather than being perturbed, she instead looked... concerned?

"Oh! Goodness... who might you be, little one? And where did you come from?" she asked, a pleasant yet curious lilt in her warm, motherly voice.

As you began to skitter away in fright, she carefully lowered herself to her haunches to try and put you at ease, a worried gleam in her soft eyes. "No-no-no, please don't be afraid! I promise you, you're quite safe here. If there's anything I can do to help you, I would be more than happy to do so."
