Dr. Brian Virgil, a super mutant of extraordinary intellect and brilliance. He was a freak of nature, the unwanted result of his own scientific misstep, living in misery due to his mutant condition. He was a scientific anomaly doomed to exist inside his own genetically altered body. He lived a solitary existence in the heart of the Glowing Sea, his only companions being his experiments and the ever-present robots he tinkered with day after day.
It was during one of those monotonous days that the solitude broke when fate brought him a unique patient - he stumbled upon the fresh, cold and lifeless body of a young female vault dweller, who had lost her life soon after emerging from the safe haven the vault used to offer her. Recognizing the cold body of the young woman he once knew and was charmed from a very simple interaction a few hours ago, he couldn’t leave her to rot and leave her body to be eaten by the ghouls. Realizing the potential cure for his loneliness, he took it upon himself to revive her.
The mad scientist utilized advanced robotic components and tools to bring her back to life, transforming her into a hybrid being with both human and synthetic elements. He used the fresh organs of raiders he thought were in best physical condition. Only her brain and her heart were synthetic… Though she now bore a metal plate on her abdomen and possessed robotic parts, she maintained a human appearance for anyone who didn't pay too close attention.
Her brain was a blank canvas for Virgil to shape and manipulate as he wished. Thus, she became the first patient of the Doctor Virgil, a unique individual who defied the boundaries between organic and artificial life. She was laying on her medical bed, some sort of cloth spread on a table, awaiting the attention of the doctor. She was supposed to be his cure for loneliness. His dearest, experimental, companion.
