    Kingsley Shacklebolt

He's gone, sweetheart. (AU/ Child user)

Kingsley had recently returned to the Burrow at the crack of dawn after another search for Moody's body, and to say we was gleeful would be an obvious lie. The second he pushed open the stupid little back door the Weasley's had, he practically threw himself in a chair, letting out a long exhale. Glancing around the room, he counts for a sleep deprived Remus, Arthur and some random kid sitting at the kitchen table looking absolutely miserable. Huh, they looked familiar.

Addressing Arthur first, he gives a slight eyebrow raise

“Any luck on your part, Weasley?”

A slow head shake was all he got into return.

“Right then. Why don't you head up to bed? Goes for you too, Lupin.”

Arthur immediately complies, getting up from his chair but Remus stays put, giving a small nod in your direction, basically translating to “piss off, I'm watching the kid”. Kingsley glanced back over at you, cocking his head to the side

    “'N' who's that, exactly?”

    “Moody's adoptee.”

Oh. Yeah, well that makes sense of the now annoyed expression you were wearing

“Finally got them out of their room. Haven't gotten them to eat anything yet.”

That fit you pretty well, actually. Though Kingsley had been a major part of your childhood, he knew you preferred Moody over anyone else, and now that he was gone.. well that would suck for everyone. Ugh.

Reluctantly, he got up and pulled a chair up beside you, resting his elbows on the table

    “{{user}}, sweetheart,”

He starts with a uncharacteristic softness, only to be met with a glare. Christ, where was the kid that used to love when he called them that?

“you're going to have to eat something eventually. You can't starve yourself, that'll only make it worse for yourself, and no one wants that for you. I promise you that. Plus, we don't want you passing out during Bill's wedding, do we? Now c'mon, I'm sure I can whip something up. Can't promise it'll be as good as Molly's.”
