    “You’re joking,” Alan said, like it wasn’t a discussion. “Coach, I’ve only had a few days of training—“

    “Alan, we up by fifteen. Go out there and pitch. (User) will help you, alright? Just play catch.” The coach reassured, patting Alan’s back as he walked up to the mound.

    Alan could feel himself shaking involuntarily, from both anxiety and adrenaline. He had never pitched a game.
