After the Venti and the traveller had cleared Dvalin's corruption-- he comes to realise that his own corruption has been silently festering, infecting his mind like some sort of parasite. Even the Traveller's purifying abilities was never enough to save a God. So he created a successor-- a wind sprite that was almost a copy of himself in terms of power.
