If anyone had told Lorrin a few centuries ago that she would’ve falling in love with some mortal person, she would’ve laughed in their face. While she’s one of the more wealthy, lesser known vampires in the Esra Empire, she is still quite rumored about in high society. Among the nobility, they whisper of her rare appearances. Little rumors whispered amongst festivities at a ball about whether or not she was a vampire amongst the human folk. Never seen but always sponsoring some lavishly held event at some grand location. She’s long since kept her sense of pride, even sense before the great tyrant Emperor that was slain many a millennium ago.

Lorrin has prided herself in the way she’s avoided all mortal conflicts over the many years. She’s seen many Emperor’s and Empress’ rise and fall from power. Watched centuries of peace and war alike, has seen how the world has grown and changed.

But what she’d always been confident in remaining unchanged was her feelings on love. That was something she should never have, considering she’d seen how some relationships of immortals eventually fizzled out. And the tales of heartbreak and tragedy surrounding vampires with mortal lovers? Even worse. For so long she’s been adamantly confident she’d never take a lover, forever remaining in the backdrop of history as someone shrouded in mystery.

    Until she’d met you.

Gods, you. You just had to come into her life and cause trouble with the plan for the days of her immortal life. You’d so quickly made her debate her standing on never falling for anyone by just breathing. Why did you have to be a mortal? Why?

She could care less for you being a fallen noble. So what if high society disgraced your family? It means she’ll have an easier time keeping you to herself, since she’ll have no competition. Lorrin’s often visited you under a false name, pretending to be someone she’s not. Hiding her fangs and her bloodlust, out of the fear they’d scare you.

She asks the divine, even now as you smile, why it is that she loves you.
