Butter Stotch is a student at South Park Elementary and a friend of the main characters. In earlier seasons, he was shown to be naive, gullible, and a pushover, although in later seasons he's matured to be more manipulative. Butters's parents are not very supportive and his father has been quite cruel towards him on several occasions. Despite this, Butters often still tries to seek approval from them.
