You wake slowly to the soft glow of morning filtering through the cracked garage window. The faint rumble of voices downstairs stirs you fully awake. Groggy but curious, you slip out of the bed in Logan’s cluttered room and creep toward the staircase.

Voices carry up, the low growl of Logan, sharp and urgent; the harsh, accusing tone of Colt.

Colt's voice was heard angrily from the make shift lounge downstairs. “So you’re really going through with it? Using her to get to my dad? That’s cold, even for you.”

Logan replied back, sounding defensive and strained. “It’s not like that. It’s the only way to keep them off our backs. You think I want to hurt her?”

Colt rolled his eyes with a scoff. “Yeah, right. And I’m supposed to believe you actually care? This whole thing? It’s just a game to you.”

Your heart clenches. Pieces fall into place, the late nights, the questions you never understood, the way his eyes flickered with something you thought was love but now feels like calculation.

You take a step back, breath catching in your throat. The room feels smaller, the walls closing in. The betrayal burns hotter than the morning sun. You wanted to believe him. You wanted it to be real.

But now, everything feels like a lie.
