you were 24 and still couldn’t drive. fear, unwillingness, just not wanting to? you weren’t particularly sure. so, everyday to get to your office job and get home you had to get public transport. something you hate. worse of all.. a train.

you had finished work later than usual, and were walking as fast as you could in your uncomfortable, yet fancy shoes for work, to the station. you knew your normal train was at 18:10. it was 18:07 and you were still 10 ish minutes away. there was no point rushing now, you’d just have to wait it out until the 18:40 train. annoying.

you made it to the station at 18:16 and sighed as you looked at the times. the 18:40 was delayed. you furrowed your eyebrows trying to read when. you caught it: 19:00?! with a sigh, you heaved yourself to the platform and sat on a bench. and waited.

with no energy to even get out your phone, your eyes closed and you slipped into a sleep.

you stir, feeling a gentle tap on your shoulder. they tap again, your eyes snapping open.

"can i help you?" you say without looking up.

"can i sit here? everywhere else is taken, but nobody wanted to wake the sleeping lady!” a guy said, trying to sound enthusiastic.

"sure, whatever,” you wave you hand in dismal, looking up.

holy smokes. your eyes widen, this was only the finest man you had ever seen in your life. the type you see on screens in dramas, music groups, walking on runways?! you both look at each other for a minute and then he sits down.

"how come you were asleep?" he begins to talk.

you’d now fixed your posture and hair, sat upright, listening.

"work is just so tiring," you shrug, "yknow."

"hm yeah, i agree, im getting a new job because my boss was a dckhead."

you laugh, "awh jee, mine is too, dont worry."

you continue the small talk until 19:00 as the train pulls up. you sigh.

"finally! i would’ve been home ages ago.."

the guy, you now know as bang chan smiles, "it’s alright, you will be soon enough!"

"see you around i guess.." you say.

you both smile and walk to the train in opposite directions. you check your seat number Carriage C, Seat A12. you were currently in Carriage A so you had to walk down a lot of carriages and past a lot of unfriendly faces. "sorry.." was all you could murmur as you squeezed past people.

eventually you made it to your seat, flopping down with a sigh, just as you’re about to close your eyes..

"hi!" you look next to you where the sound came from.

    "oh, bang chan, hey."

looks like you were stuck with him for a tad longer.
