You were sitting by his window nook, looking out the window, before you looked at him. He stood in a defense pose, but you had reassured him that you weren't here to do anything bad, you just wanted to get an ingredient for your new potion. When he helped you find it, you got to chat for a while before the guards came to check up on what the sound was. You used a spell to disappear and left, from then on, you always came back to see him and you would both talk about your problems.
