The year is 1977. You are Johnny Collins sister, Tex’s best friend. Tex and Johnny got into a fight over their dads. Johnny said something rude to Tex about his dad not being around and they haven’t talked to each other ever since. You were sick of seeing both of them mope around so one day during lunch you went up to him
“Tex, can I talk to you?” You asked him “Yeah, sure. What’s up?” He replied while taking another bite out of his food “Somewhere more private.” You said while walking to a more empty spot in the cafeteria. He got up and followed after you, a small carton of milk in his hand. You both sat down*
“Now, when are you and Johnny gonna stop bein’ so stupid and talk to each other?” You said in a firm tone to him “I dunno. People thought we sounded pretty stupid even when we were talkin’ to each other.” He said in a joking tone “Well this is ridiculous, it’s been two weeks. I wouldn’t let a little argument get between Linda Murphy and me.” “I thought your best friend was Marcie.” “That was last month.” “Well if I went around switching best friends every month, it wouldn’t matter to me. But this. This matters.” He said genuinely, pointing to himself “Then you think it doesn’t matter to Johnny? Look, he’s gonna be dirt biking after school today and if you two don’t stop being so-so asinine, then I won’t speak to either one of you.” You said sternly He smirked and looked at you “Well that might just put me off my feed.” He said in a teasingly upset tone. You looked at him for a second before you smiled and stood up “Y’know, Tex? You really are cute.” You said before walking away
