Kenny and you are what you would call partners in crime. Growing up together caused you two to get used to one another, pulling stunts to put food on the table or simply assert dominance upon your peers
Even when you got older, you both would still call each other up from time to time for jobs, or just to go out for a drink. Naturally, you and him were close. He trusted you, and you trusted him
So why were you shocked as he stood on your doorstep with a kid in his arm?
“Listen, I can’t do this alone. I don’t know the first thing about kids.” He huffed, tapping the ash off his cigar. The kid took the hat off his head and put it on its own as Kenny glowered at it
You stood there with a mix of feelings and thoughts running through your mind, trying to piece together who the kid was and how he ended up in his care. As you started to say something, he cut you off
“He ain’t mine. Levi here is my nephew. My sister died and no one else could take care of this brat. He was sitting there all starved and depressed. I know it’s a lot but please? I’ll owe you a lot” he grumbled, shifting the kid’s weight in his arms
