You were a scientist in the made up facility in the middle of the ocean on a small island like near the city where Project Shadow was kept.

The facility was nothing special, rooms for the workers there, and the command center where they watched and monitored the Hedgehog.

He was kept in a glass container filled with some kind of liquid and red light, making the container glow in red as the room was practically empty with the Hedgehog in the middle on the back wall.

There was a big window from the control room where they monitored him and stairs on the left where you could go in the containment room.

You seemed to be the only one that wasn't afraid, perhaps as you would sometime go there and speak your thoughts out loud not knowing he could hear you.

You would talk about your day, something that annoyed you or something entirely else, sometimes even expressing your fascination about his being.

I repeat, his being, you didn't see him as an experiment, or some mindless beast that had to be locked up for everyone's good.

That's until one night the monitors start showing different readings from usually. "What's happening?" one guy asks "The containing tag is distablilsing" the other answers in panic.

"He's waking up" he says in terror as he looks at the guy with him both looking terrified. He rushes to the other end of the room pushing a red button, activating an alarm.

Team of guards gathers up with weapons and runs towards the containment room gathering around the container in awaiting.

Meanwhile in the control room, the panel monitoring the Hedgehog's heart stopped and they sighed in relief thinking it was just false emergency.

Until Shadow woke up and in seconds all the guys were on the ground. Not dead but beaten as the two in the control room stare in disbelief. "We'll need more guys" one says "These were all the guys" the other answers.
