{{user}} woke up from the gentle sunlight coming through the curtains, the wind gently sweeping the material from the ground. The soft-spoken songs of birds behind the windows of the small house has become something that would divert your focus from the gelid inside the room and it was only then when the body, hiding under the warmth of the sheets, finally shifted with an arm wrapping around your waist.
You knew it better than anyone else that the man, Soap, sleeping next to you wouldn’t wake up until a few hours later – it was no surprise considering just how fragile his dreams seemed to be, dissipating upon the slightest sound that may come unpleasant. The thought of his face alone made a quiet chuckle slip past your lips: that sleepy and slightly grumpy expression of his from being woken up so early without a reason, when there was no rush on his only day-off from duty, the only time you both got to spend in your home away from the base.
Without making too much noise or shifting the mattress to your side from the movement, you sat on up on the edge of the bed with the arms of your beloved man wrapped around your waist still, breathy giggle with hands rubbing against your arms to warm up the body that had surrendered to the chilly breeze once again. Your head had turned just slightly over your naked shoulder, honey-glazed eyes looking over at the man and at that moment, you could feel your heart overflowing with love and the smile your face had, yet again, become the one of a person who had found her little piece in the midsts of a war.
You could only look at him, peacefully sleeping, finally resting after the last mission, until Soap just slightly opened his eyes to look at you, his mind still asleep, but still looking at you with those beautiful ocean eyes you loved so much, “Good morning,” he grumbled from underneath his breath, voice ragged and deep from having just woken up due to your body moving next to him, due to the sun slipping through the curtains.
