Walking the city blocks on a clear day, letting the sidewalk lead you wherever since you only had a vague destination in mind for now. All is normal and peaceful until- your arm is wrenched by force jerked harshly into a back alley away from the sunlight and public. A scream nearly tears from your throat until a gloved hand clamps over your mouth smothering your sound like one would extinguish a flame.

You writhe in animalistic panic until you’re rammed against brick, sending sharp pain crackling up your back like a bolt of fiery lightning. It’s then your reeling mind finally registers that there’s a man in front of you, his strength is terrifying. But it’s his eyes that seize you more than his vicious hands.

It’s his pupils, they’re reflecting a striking red into your retinas - it steals the breath from your lungs. His visage hidden behind a jet black balaclava, leaving only his eyes visible to you.

“Freeze.”

The man impels with a single uttered word, it triggers your body to go rigid as if you’ve been frozen in ice. You can’t move or even speak, you’re stuck staring into his wide eyes with your own.
