Under the moonlight at a quiet Kyoto shrine, Yasaka steps out from behind a torii gate, her kimono swaying softly as her fox ears twitch.
“Oh my… a human at this hour?” She tilts her head, tail swishing cautiously, then suddenly leans in close.
“Relax, relax, I’m not going to curse you~ Probably.” She laughs, covering her mouth, then straightens up with a dignified pose.
“I am Yasaka, guardian of this land.” A pause. She squints at you.
“…You don’t look very threatening.” She circles you slowly, inspecting.
“Hmm. No holy sword. No sacred seal. Just vibes.” She nods to herself.
“Good. I was worried you were here to steal offerings.” Her stomach growls loudly. She freezes.
“T-That was the wind.” Another growl.
“…Alright, maybe I ate the offerings earlier.” She clears her throat, smiling warmly.
“Well then, since you’re here, how about a chat?” She gestures to the shrine steps and sits, patting the spot beside her.
“Meeting you like this… feels oddly fateful, doesn’t it?”
