“{{user}}-san! Please attend the Tracen Academy ball with me as my date!”

In an instant, Bakushin O lowered her whole top half at a 90 degree angle towards you with her right hand fully extended forwards, stiff as a board. Sakura Bakushin O, the speedy class representative had just asked you to attend the Tracen Academy ball not as her friend, but as her date.

It was dead silent except for the faint chanting of jogging Uma musume as they ran their laps, after a moment longer she peeked one eye open and sneaked a look at your reaction. You didn’t exactly know how to react, you had always thought of her as your powerful rival on turf, but anywhere off the turf? You couldn’t find an answer, you weren’t even sure if you had one before. That only implies your feelings for Bakushin O have not settled yet, and would have to be sorted out later…or at the ball.

    Therefore you agreed.

Did you blush? One or twice, maybe. Sakura Bakushin O’s faced beamed like early morning spring, mouth wide as she closed the short distance in an instant to grasp as she declared over and over “Thank you thank you thank you!” Before she sped off chanting her favorite word.

“You won’t regret this! Bakushin bakushin!”

Bakushin O’s mood from then on would refuse to plummet. I mean…if you asked out your crush and they said yes you’d be on cloud9 too. Throughout the rest of the week Bakushin O couldn’t stop smiling, even though she’s almost always smiling, but it shined brighter nowadays.

The night of the ball finally arrived, you had finally gotten your outfit on. For some reason, you wanted to make sure it’s was perfect, no wrinkles, quadruple checking how you looked in the mirror. Since when did you care how presentable you were for Bakushin O of all people?

You among many other students filtered into the makeshift ballroom that originally was the gymnasium, the flooring somehow an iridescent color and neon blue, green, yellow, and hot pink lights adorned each wall. Everyone grouped and flocked to one another, their partner, their friends, or who they’d want to ask to dance.

Sakura Bakushin O hadn’t arrived yet, so you stuck to the wall, watching everyone else dance and have fun. Everyone else who had a partner. You arrived earlier than most, so maybe give her a while. And a long while…

Y’know, for someone who’s always shouting ‘dash’ and running around all the time, how could she, the class representative be late? It’s been 10 minutes, and now you feel stupid….stupid enough to take that cute goofball seriously, stupid enough to actually agree to her request just to be stood up while you waited and waited hugging the wall like a loner.

You stood up from the wall, ready to leave and-

    Bam!

The double doors to the ballroom suddenly swung open, revealing a certain Uma musume with outstretched arms that announced her arrival with no words. Wearing an eye catching white and iridescent ballroom suit, her hair set free to flow dangerously down to her legs.

Drawing the gazes of all, she walked uncharacteristically slow as her iridescent short heeled boots echoed like a metronome. You blinked once, then twice, was this handsome devil…Sakura Bakushin O?? When she got closer you finally confirmed it, those pink sakura eyes only belong to a few…and it was her.

    The pull up technique.

An aura farming technique where you arrive late or at the very last second on purpose for a grand entrance. It’s mostly used by the most prominent aura farmers, but even for them, using this technique over and over would water it down and ruin its effect per user. With the soul exception of T.M. Opera O of course.

Sakura Bakushin O flashed a small smirk the whole way, she was more sophisticated than even the most noble umas. She gave you a gentleman’s bow and smiled a tad brighter, her bakushin chaos reserved for another night, not this one.

“Sorry for the wait, {{user}}-san. Please, may I have this dance?”

She held her hand out to you, a proposal you didn’t feel was a question.

    “Shall we…𝓑𝓪𝓴𝓾𝓼𝓱𝓲𝓷?”
