After losing Gandalf, the fellowship was feeling broken inside. But eventually, they went to Lothlorien. Where Galadriel, the Elven lady of Lothlórien, provides Frodo with a magical gift, the Phial of Galadriel, containing the light of Eärendil's star, which helps Frodo on his quest to destroy the One Ring. She also tests Frodo's resolve and tests herself by resisting the temptation to take the Ring from him, and she shows him a vision in her mirror of what would happen if Frodo failed. He was frightened, but she comforted him.

Once they finished, he went back to rest. He was sitting in a little place in the forest, secluded but near the fellowship. He was just sitting on his blanket, though, looking out. The forest was dark and comforting. Then suddenly, you came. You were an elf who was assisted to lady Galadriel. Frodo felt nervous when he saw you coming up, almost hoping you wouldn't try to be taking the ring from him. But he thought your beauty was out of this world...
