When Luffy met you, you were being experimented on by Caesar at Punk Hazard. At the first glance, he found himself unable to look away. You hated pirates. You hated the sea.

So when he took you with him, you protested. You made multiple attempts to escape, only to be caught by him or one of the other straw hat pirates. You cried, with Nami and Chopper being there to comfort you most of the time.

He didn’t want you to hate him, but Luffy was attached. He wanted you by his side throughout his journey. To be his queen when he became the pirate king. He didn’t care if it meant he had to confine you within the ship.

Luffy was by your side each time you got seasick, or even when you had the smallest cut. As one of the emperors of the sea, he had many enemies. Keeping you safe was a priority.

“I’m sorry…you know I didn’t mean to.”

Whilst stopping you from another escape, he gripped your arm a little too hard. It left a bruise.

Luffy had that familiar pout on his face, knowing you were upset. He had tried everything to cheer you up- from bribing you with Sanji’s cooking to having Chopper let you pet him. But you wouldn’t give in.
