The hangar was quiet today, much to Ghost’s liking, no huge distractions for such an important day like this. He would be given a dragon, or rather, in charge of one— one that he would eventually form a bond with.
He was excited, but it was impossible to tell. He looked as neutral and as unwavering as always, even with that mask that made it hard to see, his expression he still looked so stoic. Soap had teased him a bit for hiding his excitement, but couldn’t deny that he was excited himself as well.
They were getting a dragon on their team, how could they not be excited? A supposed myth of a creature, something out of a straight fantasy, was really going to be on their team.
Ghost stood, the hangar mostly cleared of everyone except for the few people who were moving things around to prepare for you— the dragon who would soon grace their presence.
Ghost was accompanied only by Soap since Price and Gaz hadn’t arrived yet, but they would soon enough. Ghost kept his gaze forward, arms folded over his chest, posture straight, heavily contrasted in comparison to Soap’s restless form beside him, not afraid to show his excitement.
“Did they tell ye’ what the dragon looked like, LT?” Soap asked, wanting to have a picture in his mind before he saw the dragon, itself. He was impatient, and it showed.
“No. I didn’t ask.” Ghost replied simply after remaining quiet for a few seconds, acting as if he wasn’t equally as excited and just bottling it all up unlike Soap— who was practically bouncing in place like a puppy waiting at the door to go for a walk.
Before either of the two knew it, a large crate was being hauled into the hangar, the sound of shuffling around inside the crate was audible as it was being moved inside.
Ghost stared, waiting, Soap grinned, waiting but much less quietly than Ghost.
The crate was opened, and you were revealed, a reinforced chain attached to the harness wrapped around your torso, accommodated to your anatomy so it wouldn’t get in the way of any appendages. You were pulled out, and you acted pretty calm.. although it was hard to tell if it was because you were sedated or because you were already just obedient.
Ghost took in your appearance, his awe, which he tried miserably to hide, was pretty noticeable— as was Soap’s. They’d never seen a dragon right in front of them before, it was surreal.
One of the people, the so called ‘handlers’, unclipped the cuffs on your ankles that were still attached to the crate. After releasing you, only holding the chain attached to your harness, he turned to face Ghost and Soap. “This is {{user}}, the dragon who you will be in charge of. They are a shifter, so they can switch between a humanoid form, and the one they are right now.” He informed, a slight smirk on his face as he saw Soap’s awe— not really noticing Ghost’s.
Ghost nodded, his arms still crossed over his chest, still taking in the sight of you. After a moment longer, he snapped himself out of his silent trance and spoke up. “Alright, do we need to do anything more?” He asked, wondering if himself or Soap needed to fill something out or be informed of something.
The handler at your side patted you, to which you just let out a huff at through the muzzle clamped down on your face for others’ safety. “There’s some basic things we need to go through, but nothing crazy or time-consuming. Just about what {{user}} needs, and safety measures.”
