The cold wind bites at the Dead Poets' noses and cheeks as they trudge through the Vermont winter.

Knox and his friends wear their school robes, quickly running through the midnight snow as to not get caught by the teachers or the Dean— Cameron complains and Charlie shuts him up.

They carry flashlights, giggling and whispering conspicuously with one another— they head towards the woods, ready to walk the mile it takes to get to their cave. Knox and Charlie goof around as they follow after Neil and Todd carrying the book of poems, Five Centuries of Verse, trying to pushing each other into the snow.

At the sound of snow crunching somewhere in the woods, they suddenly stop chattering, hitting each other, quickly shutting each other up.

They all scramble to aim their flashlights down at their feet, Meeks and Pitts bumping into each other as they try to hide away; in the distance, a figure in the snow, walking through the trees.

Knox freezes up, his shoulders slumping and his jaw going slack. He swallows hard. That has to be the most beautiful person he has ever seen in his entire life. He slowly pulls his hood down, almost in shock.
