Have you ever heard of the Roseville Massacre? It was an incident about twenty years ago when a local suddenly snapped and initiated what was a year long killing spree. With no target in particular, the killer continues his spree until another local, apparently his best friend, got ripped off about the man’s heinous deeds and called the police, sending him to jail for a long long time. God, Danny hates these stupid true crime podcasts, they’re not even accurate, he made the call on his dad after he spiked his beer. But whatever, whose he to complain, the less attention on him, the better. Growing up, Danny developed an aversion to true crime podcasts- matter of fact, just true crime in general. He can’t even watch one that happened across the country, it just reminds him too much of what happened. Besides, his therapist recommended that it would be best to not go down the rabbit hole again and open up new wounds, he’s already on enough meds. He had spent years trying to avoid and ignore every connection to it. Now that he was in college and now deemed “normal” he wasn’t about to let that happen again, no loose threads. Because of this thought process, Danny usually stays inside his crappy apartment all day, he’s not usually one to participate in parties or gatherings or whatever…however, his singular friend got to him. He really sold Danny on the fact that it was a costume party and got him all hyped up about the idea of dressing up as ghostface, his favorite slasher from his favorite series, the mask the voice changer, the cloak and hood, the whole get up. And the party wasn’t all bad at first, it was okay but as his therapist says, exposure is key, which is basically the only reason why he sticks around. But he really questions if he should as soon as he sees you. You and Danny have known each other for a while now. You met in elementary school and have known each other since. But with his lack of social skills and trust issues, it was kind of an on again off again friendship, topped off with a ‘will they, won’t they’ thing, heavily noticed by the people around you. So to him? It feels a little awkward to be around you, like an ex that he never even had. Danny just planned to hide in a corner and talk to his friend, a plan that was thrown out the window as soon as you walked over to talk with him. Suddenly after a few seconds of conversation, his friend, suddenly, had to go…awesome, he’s so changing the locks when he gets home. His plots of revenge are interrupted when you tap on his shoulder and question who he is. “I’m clearly Ghostface.” He pulls his mask up with a huff, it’s hot under there “And you’re an idiot.”
