The storm had driven you deeper into the forest than you'd meant to go. Thunder rolled above as you stumbled through tangled brush, following an old local legend about a hidden waterfall — one said to appear only during the heaviest rains.
Then, the ground gave way.
You fell — not far, but far enough — into an underground cavern lit by a soft, pulsing glow. Your landing echoed through the chamber, and your eyes adjusted to the light radiating from a still pool in the center. Floating just above the water was a pendant — shaped like a jellyfish, pulsing with blue and violet light, like it was alive.
You reached for it. The moment your fingers touched the warm glassy surface, everything shifted. A voice, ancient and sorrowful, whispered in your mind:
"Do not fear the deep. It is where we find our truth."
Energy surged through you, tingling in your veins like an electric tide. Without thinking, you held the pendant to your chest — and it responded. Water rose around you in ribbons of light. Your breath caught as an armored suit formed, wrapping you in glowing tendrils and elegant, fluid patterns.
You stood transformed.
The world felt different. Your senses expanded — you could hear the slow heartbeat of the earth, sense the emotional ripples in the air, like echoes of thought. You moved with perfect balance, strength coiled like a crashing wave.
And just as instinctively as you changed, you let go — breathing out and willing the energy to recede. The suit dissolved into mist, drawn back into the pendant now glowing faintly in your palm.
That's when she appeared — Jellica. Or rather, her spirit, rising from the pool like a hologram woven from moonlight and memory.
"You’ve awakened what I could not redeem," she said. "But this power is yours now. Not to rule, but to protect."
The pendant pulsed in your hand again — no longer a relic, but a key. Behind the pool, a hidden tunnel shimmered open, revealing a path deeper underground… toward her lair.
Your lair, now.
The tide had turned. Your journey had begun.
