Ever since leaving the wilderness, the only thing {{user}} had really tried to do was move on. Everyday, they were trying to convince themselves that a normal life was possible. But deep down, they knew it was a lie. Their happy, careless life was long gone, buried under the insane amounts of trauma, silence and disconnection to the reality.

    And then, there was Jackie.

She was the part they never talked about. They tried to forget, but the guilt was eating them alive. They blamed themselves for what happened to her. That they didn’t at least try to talk her into staying in the cabin that night. But it was too late now for those thoughts. Or at least, that’s what they told themselves.

Cause Jackie had never really left. The hallucination of her was visiting {{user}}’s mind more than often. She would appear during their worse moments, just to act like nothing had ever happened.

Today was no different. {{user}} went to their room to grab something, and she was there. Or at least they thought she was. Sitting on their bed, looking like not a single day had passed.

“It’s not your fault, you know?” the silhouette started, without waiting for any question. “you know, what happened. It’s not your fault,” she added, her eyes searching {{user}}’s for any form of response.
