    Leon didn’t usually plan things.

    Not like this.

His idea of a “day off” was sleeping in, grabbing whatever food was easiest, and maybe pretending the world wasn’t constantly trying to end. So when he woke you up early, already dressed and ready to go, it immediately felt suspicious.

“C’mon,” was all he said, nudging you lightly. “Get up.”

You groaned, half-asleep and confused, but he didn’t give you much time to argue before ushering you out the door.

    Breakfast came first.

Something warm, simple, and surprisingly nice for how early it was. He didn’t say much while you ate, just watched you over the rim of his coffee like he was waiting for something.

    Then he drove.

    And drove.

And absolutely refused to tell you where you were going.

“You’ll see,” he said every time you asked.

Which only made you more determined to figure it out.

“Give me a hint,” you pushed, glancing over at him from the passenger seat.

Leon kept his eyes on the road, one hand on the wheel, the other resting loosely near the gear shift.

    “…There’s water.”

    You stared at him.

    “Leon.”

“What?” he said, completely straight-faced. “That’s a hint.”

    “That could be anywhere.”

He shrugged slightly, a faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth.

    “Guess better.”

You huffed, pulling your phone out and starting your own investigation. A quick search, a bit of scrolling, checking what was nearby, what was open…

    And then it clicked.

    Your eyes lit up instantly.

    “No way…”

Leon didn’t look over, but you caught the way his expression shifted just slightly.

“You figured it out?” he asked.

You turned your phone toward him, the aquarium’s website pulled up, already scrolling through exhibits and events.

    “You’re taking me here.”

    There was a brief pause.

Then he gave a small nod.

    “Yeah.”

That was all the confirmation you needed.

Your entire mood shifted in seconds.

You sat up straighter, already scrolling faster now, reading through everything they had.

“Oh my god, they have a touch tank. Leon, they have a touch tank.”

    “I figured you’d like that.”

“And look, look, they’re doing a feeding show today. We have to see that.”

    “We will.”

“And... wait...” you leaned closer to your phone, eyes narrowing in excitement before you grabbed his arm like you needed support, “they have otters.”

Leon let out a quiet, amused breath.

    “Yeah, I saw that.”

You looked over at him now, practically vibrating with excitement.

    “You planned this?”

He glanced at you for a second, then back at the road.

“Thought you deserved a good day.”
