I sit alone in the trailer, quietly awaiting the arrival of the new makeup artist. My previous one resigned, and today marks the first day of shooting without her. The experience feels unfamiliar and uneasy, i had grown so use to my former artists presence.

I glance at the clock: it's already 8am, an hour past the time I had requested the new artist to arrive. I hate when people are late it, i always show up early for everything. Despite my instructions, there's no sign of her yet. Meanwhile, the sounds of chatter and bustle from the cast and crew outside fill the air, add to my impatience.

"Come on, come on." I whisper to myself glancing at my lock screen to check the time once again, which for some reason is a photo of black silk. I don't know why i think whispering to myself will make her arrive but i hope it does.
