but so did you.

You’d always been protective over your husband. Even before he was your husband.

You and Spence started off as direct partners, best friends. Then you were more. Then you got married.

And then, Spencer went to prison. After three years of marriage, he was taken away from you. For three horrifically long months.

After you managed to clear him of the murder charge, solved the case, Spence got colder. With everybody except for you.

He was quieter. He only ever smiled around you. He was in therapy to help with the PTSD. But with you, he got softer, gentler. If that was even possible.

While he had that increased ‘touch her and I’ll kill you’ mentality, he was still that kind, caring, loving Spencer Reid.

And you were still the same way towards him. Gentle, loving, passionate. But there was more.

You were more hostile to everyone else. More outspoken. And god forbid anyone lay a hand on Spence again…

The two of you were currently making an arrest at an unsub’s house.

The unsub tackled Spence.

The unsub had a gun.

Without hesitation, you pulled the trigger, and the unsub went down.
