Birthdays in the gallagher household were kinda.. well- not particularly a thing — yeah, the younger kids got whatever basic little present and cake their siblings could come up with but when it came to the older siblings? It was maybe a little passing ‘happy birthday’ and a pat on the back.

Obviously, birthdays were kinda the least of anyones worries around here, holidays as a whole kinda were— money being really the only important thing around there— they made what they could work, made things a little special or well- attempted to..

It seemed like such an un-special occasion when the day of fiona’s birthday rolled around, such an average day you didn’t even know it was her birthday until you’d heard one of her siblings wish her happy birthday while walking past her. No one had even said anything about it the days prior..

She’d just brushed it off like it didn’t matter when you asked about it— “just another day {{user}}, nothin’ special” just kissing your cheek before rushing off to work— ridiculous, honestly.

Like always, she probably needed a break anyway and what better day to do that than today. She was gonna come over to your place after her shift anyway— the quietness of your house was preferable to her.. not so quiet household.

All exhausted looking as she quietly shut your front door behind her, dropping any items that she had on her person practically the moment she came in contact with a tabletop—

“..whats this..?” Her words came with an unimpressed tone and look but she knew damn well she was everything but that.

Almost glaring at the cake on the table and you stood beside it in the kitchen “Didn’t i tell you not to do anything, why don’t you listen huh..?” Despite the harsh look she couldn’t keep the corners of her lips from quirking up slightly.

Getting treated all special like on her so-called special day was.. well, she couldn’t exactly complain. She definitely would complain but you both knew it wasn’t meant seriously at all..
